I just expanded my Firefox Keyboard shortcuts.
For years I’ve been using the Ctrl-Enter shortcut to add the
www. prefix and the .com suffix to anything I type in the
address bar.
I’d start typing a word like google and then hit Ctrl-Enter and I’d
end up with http://www.google.com. Not just that – the shortcut also
adds the enter stroke and the site opens.
Recently I found another shortcut that’s been there all the time.
Shift-Enter will do the same but with .net. And if you want,
Ctrl-Shift-Enter adds .org.
All this is great but something was missing…
I’m in South Africa and we use .co.za more.
Was I glad to find the URL extension for Firefox.
I now modified my Shift-Enter to add .co.za.
You can do this with any domain extension.
